This Privacy Policy explains how Crimemoir LLC, operating this website at carlajeanconti.com (“the Site”), collects, uses, and handles information when you visit. I believe in plain language over legalese, so I’ve written this to be actually readable.

This Site is operated by Crimemoir LLC (“the Site operator”). References to “I,” “me,” or “my” throughout this policy refer to Crimemoir LLC.

Information You Give Me Directly
Newsletter sign-up: If you sign up for my newsletter via this Site or my Substack (CRIMEMOIR CONFIDENTIAL), you provide your name and email address. That information is used solely to send you the newsletter and related updates about my books. I do not sell or rent your email address to anyone.
Contact form: If you send me a message through the Contact page, your name, email address, and message content are collected so I can respond to you.
Information Collected Automatically
WordPress and hosting: Like most websites, this Site automatically collects standard server log information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This is basic infrastructure data used to keep the Site running and secure.
Google Analytics (via Site Kit): This Site uses Google Analytics, accessed through the Google Site Kit plugin, to understand how visitors find and use the Site — things like which pages are popular, how long visitors stay, and general geographic regions. The Meta Pixel uses cookies and may share data with Meta (Facebook’s parent company). This allows Meta to show my book-related ads to people who have visited this Site or have similar interests. Substack: My newsletter, CRIMEMOIR CONFIDENTIAL, is hosted on Substack. When you sign up, your data is also subject to Substack’s Privacy Policy.
BookFunnel: I use BookFunnel to deliver digital preview copies and reader freebies. If you download a file through BookFunnel, your interaction with that service is subject to BookFunnel’s Privacy Policy.
Amazon Associates: This Site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a way for sites to earn a small commission by linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link on this Site and make a purchase, Amazon may use cookies to track the referral. This does not affect the price you pay. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry.

Depending on where you’re located, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Regardless of your location, I’m happy to:
- Tell you what information I hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Remove you from my newsletter list
- Delete contact form records upon request
