I’m excited to share an early access link where curious readers can sample the first dozen pages of Chained Birds: A True Crime Memoir. In partnership with BookFunnel, a secure delivery service for advanced reader copies (ARCs)—and so much more!—readers can view pre-release content that includes the book description, i.e., what will appear on the back cover, the preface, the epilogue, and the first chapter titled “A Snowball in Hell.”
As the marketing phase for Chained Birds ramps up ahead of its November 12, 2024 release by WildBlue Press, ARCs are going out to reviewers. However, there is some risk of piracy and theft anytime authors and publishers share digital book copies. Here’s where BookFunnel’s unique watermarking comes into play … BookFunnel securely hosts digital book copies and invisibly watermarks them when the ARCs are downloaded. A publisher or author is always in control of who gets the ARCs, and BookFunnel offers access logs and monitoring software to help protect against unauthorized sharing. Bookfunnel even has a visible watermarking feature where an authorized ARC reader’s email address appears throughout the ePub or PDF version—talk about a terrific incentive not to distribute illegally!
There’s never a guarantee that digital ARCs or eBooks won’t get hijacked, but at least you can arm yourself with watermarking and a secure delivery service like what Bookfunnel offers. You can read more about BookFunnel’s watermarking feature here.
And I invite you to check out the beginning of Chained Birds: A True Crime Memoir with this early access link!
